P.Christopher Selvin(born on 27th July 1967 at Sellappampalayam, Udumalpet, TN) won a gold medal in Masters in 1989 and completed M.Phil & Ph.D(Physics) at Bharathiar University(State University of TamilNadu) in 1996.

He joined NGM College(An autonomous institution aided by Govt. of TamilNadu & Affl. with Bharathiar University, Coimbatore) as Lecturer and raised to the level of Associate Professor of Physics. He accomplished (1999-2006) three Postdoctoral research fellowships(PDF) i) FAPESP-PDF at University of Saopaulo, Brazil, ii) Science and Technology Agency (STA)-PDF at National Institute for Environmental studies(NIES), Tsukuba, Japan and iii) Agency of Industrial Science and Technology(AIST) PDF at Nanotechnology Research Institute, Tsukuba, Japan. He has also visited Canada, Italy, China, Singapore and Dubai. He has moved to Bharathiar University (ranked 13th in NIRF, MoE -2021), Coimbatore as Professor of Physics in 2016 and designated with the additional charge of the Head of the Department(i/c), Department of Medical Physics(2017-20). He has guided 10 doctoral scholars, 15 M.Phil scholars and 50 postgraduate students for their thesis. He has completed 4 Major Research Projects funded by UGC, BRNS(DAE) and DST(SERB), Govt. of India to the tune of 1 Crore and published 80 research papers in peer reviewed international journals. Prof. Dr. PC.Selvin assumed office as Registrar, HBNI on 21st February 2022 and hold the post for a period of 5 years.
